In Wake of Queen Elizabeth’s Death, United Kingdom Gets a New King

King Charles III has been received by the United Kingdom and 14 other commonwealth realms on September 8th as the new monarch, after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.


After the death of his beloved mother, King Charles ascended the throne of UK after 7 decades of being the next in line to the throne.

Courtiers say Charles never wished to ascend the throne as it meant the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. Taking over the throne at 73, the United Kingdom and the rest of the world have high hopes in him, as they expect him to carry much experience from his mothers term.


In a statement released after the official announcement of the Queen’s passing, King Charles chronicles the death of his beloved mother as a moment of greatness and sadness for his family.

After being in the public eye for all his lifetime, he is familiar around Britain and the rest of the world. It is common knowledge that the current monarch of the United Kingdom has devoted a multitude of his time and efforts to serving his people even before the passing of his beloved mother. Regardless, everyone wonders what kind of king he will be.


King Charles III was born on 14 November 1948 to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.King Charles was the Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay from 1952 to his accession, he was the oldest and the longest-serving heir apparent in British history. The longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held the title from 26 July 1958 until his accession. At the age of 73, Charles is also the oldest person ever to assume the British throne.


The monarchy from the 19th century has moved between the many generations. In order of accession, the monarchy has been ruled by the following people;

Queen Victoria (1819-1901)

King Edwards VII (1901-1910)

King George V (1910-1936)

King Edward VIII (1936-1936)

King George VI (1936-1952)

Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022)
